New Student and Family Programs are designed to support students and their families as they transition into college life. From Orientation, where students register for classes and explore campus resources, to Family Weekend, which invites loved ones back to campus for a weekend of connection and celebration, every experience builds community from the start. During the first week of classes, Campus Locators are stationed around UCF Downtown to help students find their way and get answers to any questions, making the start of the semester feel welcoming and seamless.
UCF Downtown is committed to academic success by offering a range of support services to help students thrive. The Academic Success Coaches (ASC) and Academic Advocates provide guidance on study strategies, time management, and navigating challenges. Students can also access the Downtown Campus Library, the Learning Support Center, and the Writing Center for research support, tutoring, and writing assistance. The Testing and Accessibility Services team ensures a smooth testing experience and coordinates accommodations for eligible students. To support coursework, students can also take advantage of tech lending, printing, and free testing supplies available on campus, making it easier to stay focused and prepared throughout the semester.
Career Services offers one-on-one guidance with resumes, interview prep, and career exploration to help students feel confident entering the workforce. Through Experiential Learning, students can gain real-world experience by securing internships, co-ops, and other hands-on opportunities that align with their academic goals. Students can also use Handshake, UCF’s online career platform, to search for jobs, internships, and career events, making it easier to connect with employers and take the next step toward their professional goals.
